A little piece of poetry for this years Watchnight Service.
Silent Night? Aye right!
As the Roman authorities bustle round their census duties
Silent Night? Aye right!
As Joseph's cousins try to make room for all the visitors
Silent Night? Aye right!
As Mary cries out in the pains of labour
Silent Night? Aye right!
As the baby awakes, and a wailing he makes
Silent Night? Aye right!
As choirs of angels fill the skies and startle shepherds
Silent Night? Aye right!
As an entourage from the East is asking for directionsHoly night? That's right!
As God moves everyone into place for the plan of the ages
Holy night? That's right!
As the humblest of beds is prepared for the Son of the Most High
Holy night? That's right!
As the virgin gives birth and truly God is with us
Holy night? That's right!
As the promise is fulfilled and takes His place at the turning of history
Holy night? That's right!
Glory to God in the heavens, and on earth: peace
Holy night? That's right!
Christ is born! Christ is born for you.
